In-vitro preservative test of LUOFUCON^® Wound Gel Extra was conducted according to USP <51> Antimicrobial Effectiveness Testing and it showed more than 4 log reduction which is better than the USP <51> requirements.

Biofilm Consideration in Wound Management

Biofilms are structured microbial communities that can limit treatment effectiveness and contribute to delayed healing. Their dense extracellular matrix can restrict the penetration and activity of antimicrobial agents, reducing their accessibility to embedded microorganisms.
Disodium EDTA supports the disruption of the biofilm matrix, while benzalkonium chloride interacts with exposed microorganisms. This synergistic action supports effective microbial management in biofilm-associated wound environments.
In-vitro studies have confirmed that it can destroy the biofilm structure of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus.

Rx Indications

LUOFUCON^® Wound Gel Extra is indicated for the management of ulcers (including diabetic foot and leg ulcers and pressure ulcers), 1^st and superficial 2^nd degree burns, partial and full thickness wounds and surgical incisions.

OTC Indications

LUOFUCON^® Wound Gel Extra is indicated for the management of minor cuts, minor lacerations, minor burns (1^st degree burns), and abrasions.

Contraindications

Do not use on patients who is known allergy or hypersensitivity to any ingredient of the product.
